I had the amazing opportunity to conduct the ISU Junior School choir as well as a combined choir of children from 8 different international schools in Kampala for a choir festival in March 2023.

Conducting a mass choir of students from the elementary and secondary school. Students were prepared for this important performance by myself and my colleagues in Senior School and Junior School music departments.

Conducting Accragio-an international choir based in Ghana. The choir is an amateur choir that performs several times a year around Ghana. It’s a unique choir in that its small, but incredibly diverse in many ways including the skill level of the choir members. Some members are beginning singers and learning by ear and others are professional musicians. They join together to share their love of music.

In Accra, I have performed in several productions for the International Accra Players including a variety benefit show.

As the Summer Fairy in the Snow Queen, my debut performance (a Panto) with Accra International Players.

Directing the International Belgrade Singers, an adult volunteer choir which performs several concerts each year, benefitting local charities and institutions.
Throughout the years, I’ve also begun to explore another love of mine-costuming. This is still a new skill for me, but I enjoy finding ways to make characters come alive through costuming and, coming from a thrifty family, love the additional challenge of trying to do it on a budget. Here are a few pictures of costumes that I have designed and made over the years.

This is a pair of overalls made for Jojo in Seussical. I made the straps ties since the overalls had to fit two different girls with a fairly significant height difference.

This costume was for Mrs. Mayor in Seussical Jr. This one is a little bit of a combination of thrift store dress, add-ons made by me, and a hula hoop just for fun.

This outfit was made from scratch with materials that had previously been destined for the dumpster. It was for Rapunzel in Into the Woods.

This top is an all-in-one made to look like separate pieces for “The Old Lady” in a mixed-up version of the Canterbury Tales

This piece was also made for the Canterbury Tales from left over fabric. It is the tunic worn by Geoffrey Chaucer.

This beautiful cape was made for a Queen in a class play. The fabrics were left over and I didn’t have any boning so got creative and sewed straws inside the collar to get the desired height.

This cape is the complement to the previous piece and is the King’s cape. Most of these pieces are made from left overs that were meant to be thrown out, but I hate seeing good fabric go to waste so I gave them new life on the stage.

Okay-so this one’s not a costume, but I really love it and it was so fun to construct. This is the piano I made for Seussical Jr. from some left over boxes.
