Composition based on a Ugandan Folk Song

This is an excerpt for a piece I worked on as background music for a video. The song is based on a Ugandan folk song and uses the same rhythm, call and response format and similar melodic structure to the folk song. I composed counter melodies as well as pitched and non-pitched percussive accompaniment parts and structured it into a ternary form.

Ode to Nunana

Here is an excerpt from my first composition, Ode to Nunana. This piece is written for and dedicated to my daughter and featured on the album Nunana.

Build a Bridge

Build a Bridge is a choral song with original lyrics and music encouraging unity and connection. The song is written for SSAB voices with the melody in the alto vocal line which makes it ideal for use with younger and less experienced choirs.
